We are very pleased that our 2012 A.D. Ed’s Red was awarded a Gold Medal in the 2015 New York International Wine Competition (NYIWC) on June 15. REALLY PLEASED.
The contest welcomed close to 1,000 submissions from the United States and over 30 countries around the world. The NYIWC takes great pride in not being a “medal factory.” Unlike many other wine competitions in which over 80% of those who submit win a medal, fewer than 30% of those who submitted to the NYIWC won a medal. And ED’S RED WON GOLD!
The NYIWC is the only major international wine competition to be judged solely by trade buyers. This year’s judging panel included buyers from top retail stores, sommeliers, distributors and importers.
All wines were judged in a blind tasting method and were sampled for appearance, aroma, taste, mouth feel, and finish. Each judging panel conferred together to come to a unanimous decision.
